Last day blues

Sacrificial temple

All too soon the last day arrives,

No more fly fishing but the chance to try soft plastics from the rocks in front of the lodge

I really should bring some megabass x slayers as used for Bass in the Uk but all I had was some small jig heads

On these I wound on with bait elastic broken bits of sea urchin(carefully)

This soon produced the interest of the biggest Permit I saw on the trip and although it seemed to attack the jig I felt nothing.

I did catch a big bonefish however

bonefish on plastics

The best bit though was droping the jig in front of a huge triggerfish

Oh dear but when that fish swam away with the jig I stood no chance, those fish are stong!

On reflection this week was probably the best value of all the trips Ive had with something different every day

The Snook fishing was unusual in how prolific it was ,Tarpon were around enough to be able to target them ,bonefish were quite small but loads around and then there were lots of unusual fish around

I even hooked a huge fresh water perch when looking for tarpon on the 10 weight Tarpon rod.

I was shocked how strong it was before it spat the hook out.

There were Jack Crevalle,Barracuda and even Flamingos

Hope this was helpful to anyone going out there
